Paxton is all-around amazing. I cant say enough about this horse that can convey how lovely, kind, sweet, wonderful and talented this boy truly is. Yes, Paxton is still a stallion. I am sure many people will ask why, and here is my answer: There are many quality stallions out there that have been inspected, approved, etc. Not all of them possess the temperament that Paxton has. Temperament and personality is very important to me. Paxton has been passing on his exceptional attitude and kindness, as well as his height and movement. I am not going to argue with having tall, correct, athletic, big-boned foals with great work-ethics and in-your-pocket temperaments. Paxton performs just the same as the geldings do. He is a perfect gentleman in a co-ed barn, is stalled next to mares, and has been schooled and shown in large, mixed groups without issue. It, appears, at this time, that him being intact is not yet an issue. If it ever becomes an issue, the option to geld him is there. So, with that being said...
Paxton is an honest 17hh, if not a bit taller. He is one of the most comfortable horses I have ever ridden. He is like riding a cloud and I smile every time I put my foot in the stirrup. I may be being presumptuous, but I think that everyone else that has ridden him can agree. Paxton has never - even from the first day I ever sat on his back - done anything mean or naughty. Even on the coldest, windiest days, when he is wound up and fresh, he contains himself and is so mindful, even though he could easily explode if he wanted to. Paxton has 3 amazing gaits. He has a huge overstepping walk, and ground-covering, supple, swingy trot, and a to-die-for canter. He is so easy to a fence...no work needed. He is such an uncomplicated ride. Courses at 3ft+, lead-changes, and that consistent, rhythmic hunter way of going. Paxton has been out in the fields, through the wood, on trails, and even swimming in the lake. He goes out alone or in company. Little phases this horse. In the barn, Paxton is a model citizen. He has never been mean, and does not nip or bite as some stallions do. He does, however, love his treats. He is a mooch. He loves to be spoiled. I will admit, he is still enamoured with the mares, and will call to one that is flirting with him (is in heat). I mean, give the guy a break, he is what he is...lol... But, he always respects his handler. Clips, cross-ties, trailers, EXC for the farrier and vet. I could go on and on, but if you ahve any questions, just ask. Paxton is currently at Tallison Stables in Farmington, to be shown over the winter. Kim is also available to answer any questions and we can both provide a list of people thagt can also give reference on Paxton. |
